How Becoming a Guardian Works
As a Guardian, it's your home. Under the Occupation License agreement there are freedoms that you would expect with being an owner occupier. You have control over the length of time you live in the house.
Guardians can buy shares when shareholders list them to sell. You can continue to build equity in your property by buying pieces as you can afford.
A minimum of 2% is all that's required by an approved Guardian to enter a home. e.g on an $800,000 property you only need to have $16,000 available when applying to be a Guardian in that particular property.
There is no debt in properties. Guardians pay a 4% Occupation License fee on the proportion of shares not owned by the Guardian.
